Seiko Octagon | September 1983, rainbow patina, petite
Seiko Octagon | September 1983, rainbow patina, petite
Y'all know I love some gold plate patina - this watch is a great example.
The octagonal case is made of gold plated stainless steel. The flanks have fine horizontal grooves, with the remainder being polished. Much of the case is covered in an oil-slick rainbow patina - even the crown has a bit of color to it. You'll see blues, greens, reds, oranges, and purples. Check out the video for an up close look!
The case is in good shape, with only one spot of missing plating at the top left. There are no large scratches or dings.
The dial is a deep black, which makes the hands and applied 12 o'clock marker look like they're floating. Both the hands and the dial are in excellent condition. The octagonal crystal is perfect.
The watch is running well, and comes riding a glossy croc-print strap.
